Vernon & District Volunteer Bureau

The Vernon and District Volunteer Bureau has been in operation since 1979. The role of the bureau is to act as a ‘brokerage house’ for community volunteers. The Volunteer Bureau recruits new volunteers and makes referrals to non-profit organizations.

We are proud of the fact that our organization is made up of various ages, circumstances, talents, skills, abilities, and life experiences. They all have something unique to give back to our community.

The Coordinator of the Volunteer Bureau is Twylla Genest.  She is an asset to both our community and this office. Twylla moved to Vernon with the idea of retiring, but little did she know that her volunteer position would soon turn into a permanent job position as Manager of the Volunteer Bureau.
